Precision Colour Print to launch new Apprentice Scheme

Precision Colour Printing remains one of the leading lights in the print industry with over 25 years in commercial print.  PCP is committed to ensure that the future of the business is secure, which is why their focus is to offer young people 16+ an exciting career in the dynamic world of print.

PCP is launching an exciting new Apprentice Scheme. As their apprentice you’ll benefit from invaluable work experience on site, a competitive salary and extensive support and training to help you develop valuable skills and work towards a qualification on the job.

PCP are not entirely newcomers to hiring apprentices having 2 already in the team, Alex Pinner and Ollie Millington joined the company just over 2 years ago.  The last couple of years have seen them grow and flourish with support and training in a “real work environment”, whilst earning a salary.

Alex Pinner who operates a Mitsubishi 6 colour sheet fed press in the print department said:

“I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my life after leaving college having studied Graphic Design and achieving a BTEC.  Machine printing was something that always interested me.  The Apprenticeship Scheme has excellent advantages, it offers an efficient way to learn skills and training with a salary, and I am currently working towards an NVQ level 2 in machine print.”

Ollie Millington who is an apprentice mechanical engineer in the maintenance department said:

“As soon as I left school I applied to Precision Colour Printing because the industry interested me, as well as always wanting to do “Hands-On” work.  The Apprentice Scheme seemed the best route.  To date I have achieved my NVQ level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and the extended certificate Technical Skills and Science and Maths in engineering.  I am currently studying for my level 3 National Diploma.”

Adam Walker – Head of Operations at PCP said:

“We are very proud of Alex and Ollie’s achievements to date and excited about launching this new improved scheme.  The aim is to see our apprentices as long term employees and the future talent and knowledge on this side of the industry.”
