Our RMGT (Mitsubishi) 1050 Tandem Perfector press which arrived from Japan on Monday 24th July is now well underway in being installed.
Two weeks in and the install is progressing at a pace with all the main sections of the press line in position. We are a quarter of the way through installation and everything is on schedule with a live printing production date set for 22nd August.
The 4-over-5 configuration, supported by a coating unit, will provide a full UV drying system, with both inter-unit and after coater curing lamps. It will allow for such techniques as drip off varnish for spot and matt UV, metallic inks, and flood UV in one pass – It is the only press of this configuration and specification in Europe and will provide us with a great opportunity to stand out in the magazine covers sector.
We’re also making excellent head way with training with our Sheet fed Operators working with the RMGT Print Demonstrator. On the job training has taken place with training on changing rollers, which has proved to be more beneficial to the team as it is hands on. A simulator PC has also been set up with the same software as the Press enabling the Operators to familiarise themselves with the system, so it really is an exciting time ahead for Precision Colour Printing.
