PRESS RELEASE – Precision Colour Printing leads the way with another Komori web press.

Precision Colour Printing leads the way with another Komori web press.

Precision Colour Printing (PCP). one of the leading lights in the printing industry, has added to its plant list with the installation of a second Komori S38 32-page web press.

The 50k copies per hour press comprises  2x16p or 1x32p duplex and will start live production in late September, commencing with two new shifts to handle an increased volume of contractual work and maximise PCP’s requirements in the busiest trading period of the year running up to Christmas.

The press was purchased second hand from mainland Europe and is in excellent condition.

Mr Evans, Managing Director of PCP,  said: “the investment was made to increase our foothold in the web offset arena and to improve the profitability of the business in the coming years. The press has produced a small amount of print during its lifetime and represented an opportunity too good to resist. In financial terms our business case was a no brainer and this investment strengthens our relationship in the longer term with our core portfolio of customers whom we work extremely closely with to provide the highest levels of service and quality levels that PCP is recognised for.”

As part of the investment programme, the spend includes a further stitching line and post bindery equipment to support the increased volume of printed sections the new press will produce. The Muller Martini Primera E140 comprises four stations and cover feeder and be ready for full production in mid October.

Evans added that the next phase would include additional firepower in binding and folding in the not too distant future, depending on trading and customer requirements.

PCP has a turnover of over £37million with a staff list of around 208 and remains one of the few profitable web printers operating in the UK today.
