Championing Continual Professional Development

We have always been committed to supporting our teams with continuous professional development throughout their career path and growth journey, recognising how continual development enhances current skill sets.

And the last 18 months has proven no exception as we celebrate Sean Barratt, PCP’s CI Engineer’s achievement in completing the ‘Six Sigma Green Belt’ qualification.

The Certified Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) Green Belt is awarded to individuals that possesses a thorough understanding of enhanced problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) model.

Sean Barratt comments.

“I wanted to develop my skill set and open up more opportunities for me to progress in my career and this qualification has given me some really good tools to manage improvement projects using the DMAIC structure, and I have already started to put the knowledge I have gained into practice.

Not only this but PCP will benefit too, problems will be defined and resolved using the DMAIC structure, if problems aren’t defined and resolved correctly at the start of a project the root cause gets overlooked which can end up costly to the business.”

With the support from both his family and PCP Sean successfully achieved this qualification whilst working full time including working extra hours to support business needs.

Sean continues.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working towards gaining this qualification with the greatest challenge trying to fit the 50hrs studying around balancing a young family. However, I’m definitely looking to gain a black belt & ultimately a master black belt in the future.”
